- 16volt Back Catalog FREE!!!
Here is the deal. 16volt has decided to give away their entire back catalog and make it freely and openly available to anyone and everyone who wants to hear it. 16volt wants you to give it to your friends, your enemies, your family, share it with everyone, everywhere. The goal is to get it out to more people than ever before. They want everyone to hear it, own it and share it. Use it for whatever you want as long as you aren't making any money off it. You can't resell it. As a matter of fact they have some more de?ned creative commons licensing stuff you an check out here: CreativeCommons.orgWhy are they doing this? "We had a review in a magazine several years ago that said '16volt is the greatest industrial band you've never heard.' Now while the greatest band part is heavily debatable, we realize that although we have been around a long time, there are still so many people who have not heard 16volt. Our hope is that by doing this, we get more fans. We get more people to our shows, we get more people into the 16volt music. So again. Take it. Share it. PLEASE help us spread the word. We need your help. Get this music out to everyone! We want it all over the world. Make cds give them out at shows, make torrents and upload them, share it, share it, share it. Let people know about this, send them the links. THIS IS PURE VIRAL DISTRIBUTION. This is a new model of music sharing. We aren't asking you for anything. There is no multi-tiered pricing structure, it's free. No obligations. If you want however we have setup a PayPal donation button at our site. If you want you can donate some money to us. $1.00. $500.00. Whatever you want. It doesn't matter, and it's purely optional. The priority is to get the music out."
16volt hope you will be a part of spreading this music and seeing the results. The band truly believes that if people listen to it, they will like it and it will give them the opportunity to go tour more, to get over to Europe, Australia, Japan, etc. if the demand is there, they will make it happen.

Velvet Acid Christ has been keeping extremely busy as of late. Not only is he working on a new CD (working title Songs For Villains, but he has also just wrapped up a long line of remixes for the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Emilie Autumn, Brain Leisure, and Darker Days Tomorrow. Behind the scenes videos can be found of Bryan Erickson working in the studio on his YouTube channel. All of the remixes can be heard in their entirety streaming and club and radio DJs can download the NIN “Survivalism (VAC remix)” for free. When asked about the remix, here’s what VAC had to say:
Bryan, what gear did you use? Well the main bass line is the future retro revolution, the chorus is my modular stacked with the korg micro x. drums are xbase 09, and some samples coming out of logic. I streamed all the audio tracks out into my onyx 1620, and some into the 1202 vlz pro that goes back into the onyx. Ran the modular the ksp8 stereo rotor fx with a band pass bass sound doubling the huge microx bass distorted thing, the band pass sounds was 2 plan b osc pwm hardcore. The weird noises at the end were some of my filter fm sounds from the ssm module and the planb osc. It's a pretty simple mix, and of course I used a lot of the weird noises that were buried in the original mix and brought them out.. I ran it all back in through my fireface 800 and recorded it into logic, than put it in wavlab and ran the l3 on it to get it a little louder. But it’s not really mastered much. So it’s really raw still... I hope this gets some club play... please LISTEN TO IT REALLY LOUD!
Several other Velvet Acid Christ interviews can be read at: PunkTV.ca, Matrixsynth Gear, and Vampire Freaks.
