Store Policy

Billing Policy

We gladly accept VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and MONEY ORDER as forms of payment. We do not accept C.O.D. as payment. We do not accept personal checks—they will be returned to you.

Pennsylvania residents and orders shipping to Pennsylvania addresses are subject to an added 6% PA sales tax (clothing is exempt).

Credit card fraud is a federal offense. Metropolis Mail-Order will prosecute any fraudulent person to the fullest extent of the law.

The following information must be provided in order to process a credit card order:

  • The Full Name of the credit card holder.
  • The Billing Address of the credit card holder (the address at which the credit card holder receives his/her credit card bill).

A problematic order (due to a declined credit card, an incorrect credit card number/expiration date, or unverified Billing Address) will be put on "hold" for 48 hours. We will make every attempt to contact the customer in order to correct the situation during this time period. After this time period, unsolved orders will be automatically cancelled.

We reserve the right to refuse/cancel any order for any reason.

Shipping Policy

While most domestic UPS orders are shipped within 1 business day of receiving your order, the following guidelines are used for shipping:

  • UPS 2 Day Air and 3 Day Select orders will be shipped the next business day.
  • UPS Ground Shipments will be shipped within 1-3 business days.
  • Domestic USPS Priority Mail orders will usually be shipped within 3-5 business days.
  • International orders will usually be shipped within 5-7 business days.
  • All orders will be carefully packaged and legibly addressed.

We are not responsible for the loss or damage of any package shipped to a customer -- this is the responsibility of the respective carrier (United Parcel Service or United States Postal Service). We are willing to assist you in the investigation of the loss or damage of your package.

UPS picks up daily at 5pm EST, Monday-Friday, from our Philadelphia-area warehouse. UPS will provide a Tracking Number via email at the end of each shipping day. This email will also provide you with an estimated delivery date. You can track your package via their website: www.ups.com Customers may be charged additional shipping charges for re-routed UPS packages.

UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box -- you must use USPS.

UPS provides Guaranteed Day-Definite Delivery via their UPS GROUND SERVICE. This map will give you an approximate delivery time for your order.

Due to an increase in UPS packages becoming lost and/or stolen, we will now require ALL packages shipped via UPS to require a signature on delivery. If you are not home to sign, it is your responsibility to set up a pick-up time with UPS.

International orders may be delayed due to the respective country's Customs Department. International orders may be subjected to additional charges due to duties, tariffs, or taxes.
We cannot guaruntee that non-domestic preorders will ship before street date

Due to consistent delivery problems we can no longer ship to these countries: Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Indonesia, Latvia, Iran, Iraq, Poland, Romania, Pakistan, Morocco, Ukraine, Slovakia, Slovenia, Yugoslavia. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Pre-Order Policy

We occasionally take pre-orders for upcoming releases.

When you "pre-order" an item, you are reserving an item before it is available. By reserving the item, you are guaranteed that Metropolis Mail Order will ship it to you immediately upon its official release. On many occasions, we are able to ship items prior to their official release, however, we cannot guarantee that service.

Please note that expected release dates, which are provided by the record label or distributor, can be delayed, changed, or cancelled due to unforeseen problems.

Items that are considered limited editions have the potential of selling out. We will fill all pre-orders for limited editions on a first-come-first-served basis.

North American Customers:
Your preorder will be charged at the time of order. Money orders have to be received before the "expected" date for your pre-order in order to be reserved. If we do not have the money order when we receive the items, we cannot guarantee that your item will be reserved.

If you order multiple pre-order items on the same order, we will ship the entire order when the last pre-ordered item arrives.
International Customers:
We do not charge international credit card orders until the pre-ordered item arrives. Money orders have to be received before the "expected" date for your pre-order in order to be reserved. If we do not have the money order when we receive the items, we cannot guarantee that your item will be reserved.

When placing an order with a pre-order(s) on it please consider the release dates and select the proper pre-order shipping instructions on the CHECKOUT page.

Once a pre-order has been placed you may NOT add or subtract any items from the original order. If you wish to do this, you must first contact us to cancel the existing order and then place another order online with the proper changes. There will no exceptions to this rule, please order with confidence.

Domestic UPS preorders for Metropolis Records Label releases are shipped to arrive to customers on certain days. We reserve the right to change the type of shipping selected by the customer in these cases.

Return Policy

All sales are considered final. Defective items can be exchanged for an identical item within 30 days of purchase. Please contact us before attempting a return and receive a Return Authorization. We will not accept any unauthorized returns or exchanges. The customer must pay for the returned item's shipping costs—we will pay for the replacement item's shipping cost.

Every effort is made to keep the website inventory current and up to date.
Items are subject to being out of stock, out of print, or deleted at any time.
Please notify us regarding any errors or discrepancies concerning our website.
All inventory is new merchandise.
Occasionally, imports arrive without plastic shrink-wrap. We guarantee that unwrapped imports are new items.

Website Security

Our website is designed to give you control over the privacy of your name, address, email, credit card information, and any other information you provide us. We use the industry standard security measures available through your browser called SSL (Secure Socket Layer), which allows your internet communications to be transmitted in encrypted form. Your information will be sent privately and unaltered to only the server you specify.

Privacy

It is our policy to keep your Name, Address, Phone, Email, and Credit Card information on file. We will not rent or sell your information to a third party without your permission. Occasionally, we send out newsletters concerning new releases via email to our customers. You have the right to unsubscribe to these emails by contacting mailorder@metropolis-records.com with the subject heading "Unsubscribe" and please include your email address in the text.
